LA CHAPELLE DU CHEYLARD
Chapel with a pure architecture which reveals on one of its facades an engraved inscription dating from 1329 in Saint-Geniès
This chapel stands proudly on its hillock to the south of the village of la Capitale de la Lauze (Saint-Geniès). This religious building, with its refined Southern Gothic architecture, reveals an engraved inscription on one of its facades, dating back to 1327! This is the founding charter of the chapel by its lords and co-lords. Inside, you'll find various registers with 23 hagiographic figures, including St. Catherine, St. Michael and Thomas Becket! The town council has been restoring this jewel for several years.
