CHATEAU DE LA MARTHONIE
Discover the fascinating history and remarkable architecture of this medieval castle, set in the heart of a picturesque village.
To the first castle burnt down in the 13th century with its machicolated towers, crenellations and facades pierced with mullioned windows, was added in the 17th century a classical wing with a Mansard-style roof. A monumental stone stairway links the main building to a lower wing. This listed monument forms a beautiful postcard with the course of the Côle and the neighbouring priory. It overlooks the pretty village square, where the market hall and the church complete the overall picture. You can go for a walk in the village street to admire the half-timbered houses rebuilt in the 14th century.
