DUELLAS MILL
Visit the Moulin du Duellas, on a 6-hectare island with outdoor activities for the whole family.
Discover the charm of the 18th-century Moulin du Duellas along the Isle river. Once dedicated to cotton spinning and weaving, it is now an emblematic site. This tourist and cultural site, managed since 2014 by the Isle Double Landais communauté de communes, welcomes you to a verdant 6-hectare setting. You'll be charmed by the history of this mill: destroyed by fire in 1885, it was rebuilt in 1899 with new activities (sawmill, wheat flour production and electricity supply). Since the end of its milling activity in 1963, it has become a place of rest and communion with nature, offering a variety of trails for children and parents, as well as fun workshops. Admission to the mill is free. You can stroll through a garden of many species, take part in the Fête de la Nature, try your hand at paddle-boarding or explore the surrounding area thanks to the DORIE circuit app, offered by the Département. And don't miss a trip on a gabare, with a manual lock crossing unique in Périgord. The Moulin du Duellas is also a place for gourmandise and relaxation, with a restaurant and refreshment bar, as well as numerous events such as traditional dances and exhibitions (on bats and botanical plants, for example). And for cycling enthusiasts, the "voie verte" passes through the mill. Enjoy a day of relaxation, history and discovery!
