SARLAT'S SAINT-SACERDOS CATHEDRAL
Sarlat's Cathedral of Saint-Sacerdos has undergone numerous transformations over the centuries, blending different architectural styles.
Built in the 12th century as an abbey church, it became a cathedral in the 14th century before regaining its status as a church in 1802. The building has undergone several modifications over the centuries: the apse was rebuilt in the 15th century, the choir extended in the 16th and the nave rebuilt in the 17th. The portal, meanwhile, was rebuilt in 1706 in a classical style. Despite the diversity of architectural styles, the building retains a remarkable unity.
