In this fairy tale castle, inhabited for 600 years by the same family, Bernadette and Xavier, the owners, have, for the 50th anniversary of the opening of the castle to the public, plunged into the past and the memories. From closets, drawers, old trunks, attics, they have unearthed portraits, photos, everyday objects, old games... to reconstruct the daily life of this ancestral castle. This is how they invite you to discover the life of the past, the living rooms with antique furniture that have not changed place for ages, the chapel, the private apartments of the Marquise with anterooms, boudoirs, bedrooms and even a fully equipped toilet... From the cellar to the attic, we discover how the Perigordian nobility lived under the Ancien Régime and beyond, until the appearance of the automobile in the early 20th century. You will also marvel at the interpretation space of the mythological cabinet, a 17th century work of art classified as a historical monument, but also in Artemisia's room, an invitation to the wonderful world. And let's not forget the White Lady, whose legend has made Puymartin famous. The staging of all the parts of the castle will please all ages, everyone will find a quantity of historical information of great quality. Fun activities are offered on certain dates (see the castle's website) and theatrical night visits on the theme of "An evening at the Marquise's house", on Tuesday evenings in season.
