A few steps from the road, as you leave the village in the direction of Limoges, you'll come across a curious watering place: a pendulum well, of which only a few remain in France. It was used by the community to provide drinking water for people and livestock, and the basins dug into the stone served as a wash-house. Two carved stone tubs, miniature washhouses, remain. In those days, getting water and carrying out household chores required titanic efforts!
