A magical world of stalactites and stalagmites, fistulas, calcite flows, drapery cascades and stone statues.
The Tourtoirac cave was discovered in January 1995 and opened to the public in 2010. Now the geological pearl of Périgord, a 26-seat elevator takes visitors 25 metres underground. Visitors travel 300 meters on a gentle slope overlooking the Clautre River, from a long railing accessible to wheelchairs and children's strollers. Carefully designed music and bluish LED lighting add an enchanting dimension to the stalactites and stalagmites. The temperature, constant throughout the year, is between 13 and 14°C.
