CHÂTEAU DE MONDÉSIR
Mondésir was built in the 17th century on the site of a medieval castle whose four towers are still standing, and that was an watchtower outpost for the "English" fortified town of Villefranche-de-Lonchat, founded by Edward Ist of England around 1285. In the heart of a 36-hectare estate in which 12 hectares of vineyards produce red Bergerac, the castle and its leisure park are located on a rocky rounded hilltop and have a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. Guest rooms are located on the first floor of the castle. In the old cellars and overlooking a covered gallery open onto the central courtyard, an apartment of four rooms including one with adjoining bathroom has been built. Finally, another cottage for 4 to 5 people is located in the smallholding. It opens, by a large paved terrace, onto an independent garden with a dominating view towards the West. The sunsets are particularly beautiful there. The dinner in table d'hôtes consists of a market cuisine, served with the seasons on the terrace, under the chestnut trees or by the fireplace in the dining room.
