ARCACHON BASIN ZOO
Zoo with a picnic area, offering a visit as well as many fun and educational activities
Fill up on nature and exoticism at the zoo of La Teste-de-Buch, born in 1989 from the passion of Bernard Couturier, a man who dreamed of living among wild animals. Today, there are nearly a hundred of them and you can discover them in a rather unexpected way, by crossing a suspension bridge. Thrills guaranteed! You will also see elephants, monkeys, bears, rhinoceroses, giraffes or even dwarf hippos (yes, it exists!), dwarf buffaloes, striped hyenas... And always in beautiful settings. The African aviary covers 3,000 m².

There are still new built enclosures this winter, new birds, monkeys and other species, and an island where children can go in contact with the small monkeys. Toilets mi course were also installées."
It is a wonderful natural site and relaxing where you can observe the animals without disturbing them, thanks to bridges. A wildlife also settled in the heart of the waterfalls, vegetation and rush rings, more than 55 animal species to be met.
There is retirement home, because they refuse to put down the too old animals.
