The 16th arrondissement located on the right bank is one of the capital's chic districts and is primarily residential. However, the 16th arrondissement has also a number of interesting sites for visitors, which makes it quite touristy: the Palais du Trocadéro, which is a very good vantage point of the famous Eiffel Tower; the Marmottan Museum, which has the world's largest collection of Claude Monnet's paintings; the Jardin d'Acclimatation to the north-west of the Bois de Boulogne; the Roland Garros stadium where the eponymous tennis tournament is held every spring; the pretty rue de Passy and various big brands shops... Finally, the 16th arrondissement also boasts many local shops, including a good number of delicatessens and caterers, gourmet restaurants, not to mention many luxury hotels that will appeal to customers who can afford to enjoy themselves.

What to visit Paris?

When to go to Paris?

It goes without saying that Paris is alive all year round, but if you're aiming for a particular activity or event, you'll need to choose your time of year. Here are some tips on when to visit Paris.

High tourist season: from May to September, tourists flock in great numbers. This is when the weather is the best and many festivals and events take place, such as Roland Garros or the Fête de la Musique. Note that in August, Parisians desert the city to go on vacation, which gives a strange atmosphere. Many shops are closed and only the tourist centers are animated. The Christmas period is also very popular, especially for the illuminations and the animated windows of the department stores.

Mid-season: in October-November and from March to April, tourism slows down slightly, but not the number of visitors. Indeed, Paris is a dense city and there are almost always people in the transport and in the attractions.

Low tourist season: there is not really one, except in January and February, when hotel rates drop slightly. Paris attracts tourists all the time!

The climate of Paris is of a degraded oceanic type since it is influenced by the continent. Temperatures are relatively mild with frequent rainfall in all seasons. The hottest temperatures are recorded in July and August, and the coldest in January. The high urbanization of the city results in a slight temperature increase (about 2°C) compared to the rest of the northern half of the country.
