BEAL (BUREAU D'ETUDES ET D'ACCESSIBILITE AU LOGEMENT)
Established in 1992 by the Group for the Integration of Persons with Physical Disabilities (GIHP) Aquitaine, the Office of Education and Access to Housing has as its main function the interface between owners and tenants. BEAL, which owns no housing, provides a catalyst between demand and supply. In particular, it plays a role of prescribing, contact, information and advice to manufacturers, owners and tenants. The BEAL is aimed at public and private partners, affected by disability, in terms of real estate projects, the adaptability of existing housing or suitable accommodation. It takes as much action as possible when designing projects for construction or renovation and then participates in the follow-up to design the adaptations from the outset. It may also intervene retrospectively (removal of stairs, chair installation or platform installation, etc.), thus participate in the enrichment of a diversified rental park designed to meet the diversity of needs and, finally, it disseminates the offers of housing and offers tenants accommodation adapted to their disability.
