PEBBLED CASTLE
It was in 1780 that this splendid castle was built, under the aegis of the architect Etienne Laclotte, famous at the time, who had it built to spend his summers there. We will not be surprised by the volumes and the somewhat cold weather conditions typical of this period when we visit this wine estate. Acquired by the Denis family in the 1940s, it was taken over in 1997 by their daughter and her husband, Isabelle and Paulin Calvet. The latter put all their energy and know-how at the service of a fine and elegant wine, and perpetuate the vision of their predecessors, namely a traditional approach to viticulture and a requirement for good value for money. The welcome they will give you will be very friendly and simple, so do not hesitate to do a little wine tourism at the gates of Bordeaux, on a 20-hectare estate in the heart of Mérignac, to escape a little from the urban atmosphere and discover both an excellent vintage and a building very representative of the beautiful Aquitaine residences of the philosophers' century.
