Crémet d'Anjou was created in 1890 by Marie Reneaume, a cook from Les Aubiers. Nearly 130 years later, we're still enjoying this creamy specialty, made from a mixture of whipped cream and stiffly beaten egg whites. Add a fruit coulis or a simple spoonful of sugar and you've got an exquisitely light dessert! Recently, they've also become available in a savoury version! Marketed by the Bourrigault family, they are available from local cheese-cream makers, grocery stores and supermarkets.
