Situated opposite the riding schools, this attractive restaurant has retained its stonework and woodwork, but has been tastefully refurbished. The chef prepares pleasant, fresh, seasonal and homemade French cuisine. A master in the art of sauces and reductions, he lightens them without losing their essence. Don't miss the green curry of sea bream with lemongrass and sepia tagliatelle, and for those who like it, a home-made crépinette of pig's trotter. For dessert, indulge in a macarole (profiterole with homemade macaroon) with vanilla and chocolate ice cream. A good time is guaranteed.

The place is much larger than depicted by the photos on the Web. The decor is bright, elegant without being pompous.
The service was perfect, the menus attractive. We selected for lunch the 23€ menu, which was a great value. I particularly liked in addtion to the standard well thought dishes the recommendation for more country side dishes such as the "Pork feet" dish I had. I am used to take clients to lunch and this restaurant will stand on top of my list in Saumur. I will not be surprised if this establishement gets a Michelin star any time soon.
