A major cultural center for Aix-en-Provence and the Aix region, the Cité du Livre or Méjanes Library occupies a restored former match factory. It houses the municipal library, to which are added several other entities: the Albert Camus center, the lyric art and dance video library, and a university center (IUT Métiers du livre). It is an interdisciplinary cultural center and a multimedia hub, hosting associations and artists-in-residence, as well as the Institut de l'Image and the Fondation Saint-John Perse. Workshops, courses, screenings, exhibitions and concerts are all part of the program... Currently under renovation, please check opening hours.
