Opened in 1830, the Brémond confectionery is Aix's first and oldest calisson factory, located at the time on Cours Mirabeau. Brémond calissons are distinguished by their aromas and textures: candied melon, crushed almonds, candied orange and lemon, and the melting/cracking properties of powdered sugar. The company also produces other sweets, including the famous olivettes, chocolate-covered almonds, candied fruits and marrons glacés, as well as savoury products, oils and tapenades.
