One of the city's emblems, made famous by Pagnol's trilogy when it was helmed by Felix Escartefigue in Marseille.
The ferry boat, or "feri boîte" as the locals call it, is one of the city's emblems. It was made famous by Pagnol's trilogy when it was helmed by Félix Escartefigue. Since then, it has been sharing the launch with another more modern, all-electric boat, but it has not disappeared. The people of Marseille use it to cross the Old Port in its width, thus avoiding going all the way round on foot and would not want to see it disappear under any circumstances. In a few minutes, for less than a euro, you can go from the Place aux Huiles to the town hall.
