Hedi Zahaf, the initiator of the project and himself a country warden in Bargemon, pays tribute to these rural law and order professionals in the world's1st museum dedicated to this profession, which first appeared in the 18th century. A plunge into popular history that begins with Martin's welcome at the museum entrance. Wearing his bicorne hat, an armband with the imperial eagle of the1st Empire and his saber, this First Empire "garde champêtre" mannequin wears the uniform worn from 1791 until the 1950s.
