BAUDINARD'S CANYON
Go there and contact
An ornate canyon of cliffs, home to Neolithic and Palaeolithic artefacts, currently on display in the museum.
A long, 13-kilometre corridor, lined with sheer or overhanging cliffs, rock faces and caves, it forms the first part of the Lower Gorges du Verdon. The Sainte-Croix dam stands at its entrance. In 1958, CNRS prehistorians began excavations in several caves. They unearthed numerous Neolithic and Palaeolithic artefacts, now on display at the Musée de Préhistoire des Gorges du Verdon. You'll be able to admire a number of Bronze Age and Iron Age artefacts.
