LOU PORTAOU
Restaurant with terrace under a medieval porch, serving Provencal cuisine with local produce. A good address.
In his medieval vaulted dining room or on the two covered terraces (dating from the 12th century), Robert Chiu, who has been at the helm since 1987, reinvents his Provencal cuisine with a blend of local produce. An example of an ideal meal? Bonito carpaccio with mint-lemon marinade, followed by homemade caillette provençale on a palet of panisse... Bold and ingenious! Right next door, La Cueva is a tapas bar/wine cellar, adjoining an art, decoration and curiosity store: a detour is a must. Open daily in summer, from 10 a.m. to midnight.
