BRÉGANÇON FORT
A fort with a height of 35 meters with 2 towers that was the official residence of the president.
The 35 m high promontory, where the fort stands today, has been occupied since the Celto-Ligurian period. In the 11th century, the fortress was built with its 2 towers. In 1964, General de Gaulle was the first head of state to sleep in the fort. He decided to convert it in 1968 to make it the official holiday residence of the Presidency of the Republic. Since June 2014, the fort has been made accessible to the public with visits to the gardens, the president's office, the dining room, the television room or the small lounge.
