OUR LADY OF THE SWORD
Notre-Dame du Glaive chapel located on a pleasant hill in Cabasse, a place full of history, to visit.
To the north of the village, this quiet hill is ideal for walks. From its summit, there are many viewpoints: the Issole gorges, the surrounding massifs, the wastelands of the bauxite mines, the imposing Trou aux Fées on one side and the village on the other. On the spot, the eponymous chapel, rebuilt in 1621, was later extended by one bay. One Easter Monday in 760, the Virgin Mary appeared there to save the inhabitants of Cabasse who were under siege by the Saracens. To thank her, the inhabitants of Cabasse built this sanctuary on the site.
