The largest church of the Var in Fayence, with an exterior bell tower, three naves of four bays and an apse

As the old Saint-Jean-Baptiste church (1346) became too narrow, it was necessary to consider the construction of a new building, which was done at the beginning of the 18th century. Neoclassical, built from 1738 to 1750 by Bishop du Bellay, this church houses an altarpiece of Saint Christophe, various paintings, including a Baptism of Christ of Genti - 1765. It is the third largest church in Var by its size.

Au coeur de Fayence une église de caractère qui dégage un certain charme. Elle est aussi une halte dans la montée du village.

Située place Saint Jean Baptiste derrière l’office de tourisme. Stationner à l’office de tourisme car ce jour c’était le marché. L’église est imposante extérieurement et fait partie des grandes églises du Var. Mériterait peut être quelques travaux de ravalement. De style Baroque ce monument impose avec ces nefs et travées en forme circulaire.
A proximité magnifique vue sur les massifs et le terrain de planeurs.
Ce petit village charmant fait parti du circuit des villages perchés à visiter.

Une des plus grandes églises que nous avons vu dans le pays de Faïence. Intérieur et extérieur très agréables. Située dans le village sur une grande place elle fait partie du chemin de la visite du village. À visiter absolument.
