THE MIDWAY OVEN
Oven built in 1522, saved from demolition in 1997 by Fayençois then transformed into museum.
Built in 1522 under the bishop of Fréjus Nicolas de Fiesque, this oven, first commonplace and then communal during the Revolution, was saved from demolition in 1997 by the Fayençois. Thanks to the association "Les amis du four du Mitan", with the help of the General Council and the municipality, it has been restored and turned into a museum. A scene from everyday life with characters in 1900 costumes and period objects has been reconstructed. In odd years, on the first Sunday of July, the association organizes the Bread Festival, which brings together more than 250 costumed participants!
