VIEUX VILLAGE ET CHÂTEAU DES PONTEVÈS
Remarkable historic site whose feudal castle dates back to the year 940. Free access and nice walk.
Perched on a hill above Flassans, the ruins are a magnet for history buffs and the curious alike. Just a few minutes from the heart of the village, once you've parked your car in a small free parking lot, a well-marked path leads you up a steep hill to the first remains of the ancient village of Flassans, abandoned in the 15th century: a chapel, then the ruins of the village and finally the feudal castle belonging to the Pontevès family (1399).
