A Gallo-Roman amphitheater that has benefited from major restoration work, enhancing its vocation as a performance venue.

Built outside the ramparts in the 1st century BC, this building, one of the oldest amphitheatres in Gaul, could hold twelve thousand spectators, compared to five thousand today. In the centre, a pit in the shape of a cross allowed for all sorts of staging, from gladiatorial combats to wild animal hunts. Important restoration, consolidation and enhancement work have enabled this monument to regain its vocation as a place of entertainment.

D'important travaux ont permis de rénover ce site. Cependant ils sont très visibles et je trouve cela dommage. Cela défigure un peu ce lieux magique.

Vestige romain, quand j y suis allée j étais seule , impressionnant de se retrouver dans un lieu comme celui ci sans personne, on peut s imaginer tout ce qui a pu s y passer, après je n y est jamais assisté, mais y aurait des concerts

Vestiges des arênes romaines bien aménagées pour assister à divers spectacles et concerts. Il est très agréable d'y assister à un concert l'été....sauf en cas de pluie car ce n'est pas couvert.
