ROMAN THEATER PHILIPPE LEOTARD
Theater with a festival setting in the summer, retaining only a few walls of its original structure and a front of the stage wall.
Built in the first century AD, in the north-east of the city, near the Gate of Rome, the Roman theater has only preserved a few walls of its initial structure, as well as the front of the stage wall. It is however possible to guess its shape by observing the semicircular pit, the orchestra, which was surrounded by a bench reserved for the decurions. Every summer, in July, the theater returns to the site for the "Aurelian Nights" festival.
