Discover Garéoult's ancient remains and delve into the town's history.
In 1988, while the Garéoultais were digging the future swimming pool of their home, they made the unexpected discovery of ancient remains. They then called in archaeologists and excavations were launched. In total, no less than 90 graves were discovered: the oldest date back to the Gallo-Roman period and the most recent date back to the Middle Ages. The first residents of the town were already there in the 1st century! Today, you can admire most of the objects recovered during the excavations at the town hall.
