From 1850 to 1930, great villas were built for wealthy aristocrats or industrialists. For example, that of Alexis Godillot on Riondet avenue, the Tolosan villa on the 15th- Corps avenue, built for the duke of Luynes, or the Tunisian villa on Beauregard avenue, a superb construction of Moorish style.
The Tourist Office offers a 1h30mins tour to discover the 19th century district.
