Denise and Roland Ruling have rehabilitated a centenary olive grove, which has been burnt down several times. 800 olive trees were planted in terraces on the southern slopes of Mount Fenouillet, on very rugged terrain between 150 and 250 m. If their primary purpose was to create a barrier against fires (the olive trees are natural firewalls), Denise and Roland also use it to produce an excellent olive oil of Provence AOC, certified organic, and green or black olive paste. They also exploit, in organic culture, an orchard of kiwifruit, as well as a citrus orchard, lemons, grapefruit, bitter and kumquats oranges. Two hostels in France are also at your disposal, if you want to stay in the protected area.
