NOTRE-DAME-DE-LA-VISITATION CHURCH
Church built in La Crau and consecrated by the bishop of Fréjus-Toulon in 1857, with a bell tower decorated with a majestic campanile
The Notre Dame priory was becoming too small, and in 1845 Louis Toucas asked for a new place of recollection. It was the priest Martel who officiated for the first time in the church of Notre Dame de la Visitation in 1849. When La Crau separated from the town of Hyères, it became a fully-fledged parish recognised by the Bishop of Fréjus-Toulon, who consecrated the church on 12 February 1857. On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, a majestic campanile was added to its bell tower.
