VERNE DAM
Hydraulic dam, 235 m long and 42 m high, with many trails to walk, ride or mountain bike
This hydraulic dam was built in 1991 across the river Verne, 235 meters long and 42 meters high. This artificial reservoir, intended to supply drinking water to the population of 10 communes in the Maures region and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, does not allow fishing, swimming or sailing. On the other hand, the area is ideal for picnics and is home to wonderful species of birds, grey herons, cormorants, etc. Many paths converge around the dam, which can be explored on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike.
