THE LAOUTIANS
These two karst collapse lakes are a pleasant place to take a walk
A source of age-old legends and a unique geological curiosity in Europe, these two karst collapse lakes are a pleasant place to walk around, even if swimming is prohibited. Of the two cavities, the Grand Laoutien, whose diameter is around 130 metres, is undoubtedly the most spectacular: at the bottom of a crater with more or less vertical walls, a lake with green water seems to be sleeping for several thousand years. The Petit Laoutien is located a few hundred meters away.
