FORT BALAGUIER MUSEUM
Museum dedicated to local maritime history, the Toulon penal colony and the life of convicts, in a former fortress in La Seyne.
A former fortress with a cannon tower dating from the 17th century, it was built opposite the royal tower of Toulon to protect the city and its arsenal by blocking access to the harbour. Today it is dedicated to local maritime history, the Toulon prison and the life of convicts, and has been listed as a historical monument since 1973. Each year, a temporary exhibition is also held. Together with the Botanical Garden, Fort Balaguier offers a beautiful ensemble and a remarkable panorama.
