MOULIN DE LORGUES
This is the only mill still in Exercice. Yet the city relies on a solid olive tradition. In 1812, the municipality was even considered to be the 1st common olive oil of France, with 220 000 registered trees. And there were no fewer than 17 mills in operation to deal with this huge harvest, the construction of some dating back to the early th century! But the catastrophic floods of 1709, 1820 and 1956 brought a serious stop to production. We will have to wait until 1987 for this co-operative to be created through Roger Bounetoux's work. It deals annually between 70 and 80 tonnes of olives with 110 co-operators. The mill is open from 15 November to 15 January.
