It's a lovely story. When Eugène Second, a local olive grower, died, he bequeathed the mill he owned to the commune of Montauroux. And so, since 1948, the village has had its own old-fashioned mill, the only one still in operation, with its stone millstones and hemp scourtins. A treasured heritage that can be visited during the crushing period, from mid-November to the end of January. Some 20 tonnes of olives are crushed here every year.
