This beautiful Merovingian edifice was built to celebrate Clovis' victory over the Visigoths. From the second highest peak in the Maures, at 768 metres above sea level, there is a superb view of the surrounding countryside. You can see the Maures massif, the Pre-Alps, the sea, the Golden Isles, the Giens peninsula, Toulon and its harbor, the Sainte-Baume, and even Corsica if the air is perfectly pure. A true haven of peace!
