L’ÉCURIE DU CASTELLAS
Charming hotel with a magnificent view of the vineyards, the sea and the beaches of Pampelonne and Escalet
The rooms of this charming hotel overlook the rooftops of the village. A magnificent view embracing the vineyards, the "grande bleue", the beaches of Pampelonne and l'Escalet, escapes from the vast terrace that extends the restaurant. The chef's menu remains in the Provencal line, as evidenced by the terrine of semi-cooked duck foie gras, pear chutney, bread with figs and toasted hazelnuts, grilled fillet of sea bream, virgin sauce and 3 flavors rice, rack of lamb in a crust of Provencal herbs, coffee and amaretto tiramisu...

We arrived around 5PM and there was no one to check us in, just a voicemail explaining how to enter and which room was ours. The room had no AC but did have two balcony doors so we could make a crosswind. One balcony also had a beautiful view of the town and coast. If we didn’t have that room or the other room with the balcony facing the down, this would be a much lower rating. The bathroom was unfinished (no tile on the floor) and looked nothing like the photos shown in previews. The roomed looked roughly like the photos.
We never saw or spoke with any of the staff, which isn’t necessarily bad. Just was odd.
The town is wonderful. Every restaurant we went to was a joy. We never went to the hotels restaurant since we wanted to see more of the town and honestly just didn’t want to be at the hotel any longer than we had to.
If you don’t get a room with a view of the town it’s absolutely not worth staying here unless you want to save money.
