Created in 1985 by the late, great Jean-Claude Brialy and Jacqueline Franjou as a tribute to Gérard Philipe, this festival lasts twelve days, from late July to mid-August. Held in an exceptional setting, the Théâtre de Verdure, it features classic and contemporary plays, alternating with tour de chant by French variety artists and renowned comedians. Since 2007, Michel Boujenah has been the festival's artistic director.
