ROCK OF ROQUEBRUNE
This natural area, high above the Argens plain, which has always been a major religious site, is a listed and protected site.
This natural area, 372 meters above the Argens plain, has always been an important religious site, as evidenced by the successive presence of numerous convents and monasteries, including that of the Trinitarians, a mendicant order dedicated to the redemption of Christian slaves kidnapped by the barbarians. Its characteristic reddish-brown color is due to the presence of large quantities of iron oxide. This listed and protected site has a signposted pathway leading to the three crosses, and the GR51 passes at the foot of the Rocher, on the south side.
