The Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma occupies the building that housed the gendarmerie brigade from 1879 to 2003 and served as a set for the films. On the second floor, you can discover the history of the building and the local gendarmerie, the reconstruction of a 1960s gendarme's office and the history of films shot on the Var peninsula; and on the second floor, Saint-Tropez through the cinema.

Open all year round. Closed May 1, December 25 and January 1. Every day. From January 2nd to March 31st : 10 am - 5 pm - From April 1st to June 30th : 10 am - 6 pm - From July 1st to August 31st : 10 am - 7 pm + night opening every Thursday until 9 pm - From September 1st to October 31st : 10 am - 6 pm - From November 1st to December 31st : 10 am - 5 pm. Free until 12 years old. Adults: 5 €. Children (12 to 18 years old): 3 € (students under 26 years old, policemen and job seekers on presentation of proof). Group (30 people): 3 € (per adult). Tickets are issued 30 minutes before the museum closes. Elevator, audioguides, wheelchair (Tourism & Handicap Label). Port parking nearby. Vacation vouchers. Only dogs held in the arms or in their basket are accepted.

Lieu incontournable si vous êtes de passage à Saint Tropez. Ce musée est en fait l'ancienne gendarmerie où a été tourné les films cultes Des Gendarmes avec Louis de Funès. En étant juste sur la place devant la gendarmerie, on imagine très bien les scènes qui ont été tourné ici.
Le musée est intéressant et beau à voir.

De visite dans le sud, nous avons décidé d'entamer la visite de la gendarmerie de Saint Tropez avec notre fils de 14 ans et il a adoré! Le gendarme est un incontournable du cinéma français, il nous fallait donc voir ce musée. Peu cher et très agréable à visiter, nous avons passé un excellent moment.
