SCREAM BATTERY
The Battery of la Cride benefits from an exceptional view on the sea, in a museum of the Sea and the underwater Diving
Under the reign of Louis XIV, the defensive system of the Toulon roadstead and its surroundings was developed in preparation for possible land and sea attacks. A battery called "de la Cride" was built at Sanary, on a rocky point jutting out into the sea. From 1873 onwards, as a result of advances in artillery technology, the Cride battery lost its defensive role. In 2013, to give it a new lease of life, the town converted the Battery de la Cride, which boasts an exceptional view of the sea, into a museum of the sea and scuba diving.
