FAIENCE MUSEUM
Museum retracing the history and techniques of manufacture and decoration of the earthenware, place of conservation and research.
This museum, created in 1976 in the Gassendi house, residence of the General d'Empire, retraces the history of production and the techniques of manufacture and decoration of earthenware. It is intended to be a place of conservation, but also a place of research and transmission, both of the stylistic and decorative tradition, but especially of the know-how, the trade and the way of life of the faience makers of Varages. Of the many pieces on display, two dishes made by Étienne Armand, the very first earthenware works known in Varages, are worthy of note!
