ST. PETER'S CATHEDRAL
Chapel of the Franciscan convent, transformed into a temple to the goddess Reason during the French Revolution, before being consecrated a cathedral in 1822.
In the heart of Annecy, partly built on canals, the cathedral of Saint-Pierre was to serve the Franciscan order in the 16th century with a Renaissance-style façade topped by a rose window, triangular pediments and pilasters. In 1822, this church became the cathedral of the diocese. Remarkable facade. The interior is similar to the latest Gothic style with a chevet decorated with a work by Mazzola (18th century), as well as another attributed to Caravaggio. Two bells from the Paccard foundry. The great organ is classified as a Historic Monument.
