PYRAMIDE
Obelisk placed on the central median of the hippodrome of the ancient city, an exceptional monument located in Vienna.
The Pyramid stands in the middle of boulevard Fernand-Point, the only witness to the Roman circus, and not the "tomb of Pontius Pilate" as some romantics would have us believe. This obelisk (for, in fact, it is an obelisk, not a pyramid...), placed on the central median of the ancient city's racecourse, served as a marker for the chariot race. At 15.50 m high and 4 m wide at the base, there are few similar obelisks in the Gallo-Roman world. This exceptional monument has now been restored.
