Under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, the ONF in Martinique is in charge of the island's public forests, i.e. one third of the forests. There are many issues at stake: protection of fauna and flora, preservation of the land heritage and landscapes, production of wood for local crafts, welcoming the people of Martinique and contributing to the tourism offer. The aim is to reconcile the essential protection of fragile environments with the economic development of Martinique, while safeguarding the territory through the creation of natural and biological reserves.
