MAESTRANZA THEATRE
This is Seville's opera house, but its musical program is wide-ranging, from jazz to flamenco to film music.
Located near the bullring, this Seville opera house was inaugurated in 1991 and can accommodate up to 1,800 people, making it the largest hall in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. Sevillians have nicknamed it the "Magefesa", after a manufacturer of domestic appliances, because of its dome which measures more than 47 meters and makes it look like a pressure cooker. It hosts a varied program of symphonic and operatic performances, as well as numerous festivals: jazz, film music and the Flamenco Biennial.
