A fruit of the work of the architects Aurelio del Pozo and Luis Marín, the theatre of the Maestranza was inaugurated in 1991 by the King of Spain. It is located between the plaza de Toros and the torre del Oro. Specially built for the 1992 World Exposition, he retained the façade of the Royal Artillery Barracks that was held here. Its programming (symphonic and lyric) is varied: opera, zarzuela, recital, dance, concerto, flamenco. Every two years, in the framework of the Biennale du Flamenco, numerous shows are taking place there.
