This Japanese restaurant, very popular in the Sunset area, offers one of the best sushi options in the area. Unfortunately, wait for rush hours, especially Saturday. In this true sushi restaurant you can see the chefs working behind the bar - it is nice to sit there and eat. For an even more authentic atmosphere, so-vous, déchaussés, on the ² to taste your sashimis and other delicate dishes.

I got the Ms. Spicy and it was a REALLY great sandwich. I enjoyed every bite. Also, the people working here are very nice and friendly.

Best sub I ever ate in San Francisco. This became my go to spot for years.

I haven’t been to Irving Subs or Sunset Subs prior to today, so this is my first time trying these sandwiches. There was a queue ahead of my walk in to order a sandwich. If you’re visiting San Francisco or haven’t had a Dutch crunch sandwich, you have to try a Dutch crunch sandwich at least once in your life. I don’t make the rules. From walk in to ordering to go, it took about 18 minutes for the T.A.B.L.T sandwich with Dutch crunch bread to be toasted and assembled. There were only like 2 people working, so it was a bit of a wait for the sandwich but the staff at the register was friendly.

I’ve had quite the number of BLT sandwiches, banh mi, and sandwiches with Dutch crunch bread in my life. I don’t claim to be a sandwich connoisseur, but I’d like to say that I know what I’m looking for in a sandwich. This T.A.B.L.T sandwich was THICK! Oh my goodness, it was so massive and satiating, as I’d hope for a $12 sandwich. (Technically, the sandwich was $15 after tax and tip.) The Dutch crunch bread on the sandwich was still crunchy and the bacon was still crispy by the time I returned home to devour the second half of the sandwich. The avocado was perfectly ripe and generously spread out. It was a well balanced stuffed sandwich with the mayo sauce, pickles, and pickled peppers.

Overall, this is my verdict on the T.A.B.L.T sandwich: fantastic and filling! 10/10 would eat again. And might I say…this is the perfect sandwich for a picnic!

Tips and recommendations: Get your sandwich bread toasted. Follow Sunset Subs on Instagram for a free snack. I opted for the Kettle Sea Salt chips for my snack of choice. You can order to pick up ahead of time to avoid a queue.

10/10 sub. Just a solid classic sub. Bread was perfect texture. They take their time to assemble the sandwich but it’s worth the wait. It’s a little big so might feed two.
