Fior d'Italia was rebuilt in the Hotel San Remo after a devastating fire. A very old-school establishment established in 1886, it is, according to its owners, "the oldest Italian restaurant in America"! The menu, a traditional Italian version focusing on northern Italian specialties, offers a wide variety of antipasti, pasta, meat and fish dishes, served with great pomp and circumstance. The stars of the menu are the perfectly seasoned osso bucco, lasagne and clam pasta. The bill, however, is steep.

Lovely, old-school Northern Italian restaurant that sticks to its roots and outshines the trendsters. Tables are set far enough apart that conversation is possible. Our friendly waiter made sure we were served quickly as we had a show nearby. Delicious, classic Tagliatelle Bolognese and a Caesar to share were plenty for my daughter and I. The bread served with the meal was hearty, fresh, and crusty. The pianist played a request beautifully. We will return to enjoy ourselves in a more leisurely manner another time!

booked a table at the oldest Italian restaurant in America for dinner: the Flor d’Italia has been operating since 1886. Also because it is just 300m from our hotel, so no long chilly walks????. Cosy vibe; starter of grilled prawns wrapped in pancetta with garlic and olive oil, mains of tagliatelle bolognaise and spag vongole finished with some pannecotta with a berry coulis. Experience slightly marred by a super noisy table next to us of what looked like a half dozen women in their 70s talking, drinking and laughing loudly; with one that gradually progressed through the evening from sounding like Muttly from the Wacky Races; to Harold the Hyena ????..Plus- live pianist playing all the classic standards. 8/10.

The most delicious Italian food! We got the gnocchi, lasagna, and ravioli- we did not leave an ounce of food leftover Out three desserts were as equally amazing as the main dish. The staff was so friendly, make you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. The live music was a great plus to the Italian feel! Our waitress, Marie, had the best recommendations and was extremely sweet with us!
